![]() If you go onto the forums, people sometimes talk about Borgs. When it's not a faction GM (which is about 1/2 the time on average) clans compete individually, so rivalries start to get pretty heated. If you see more than 4 colors on the map, it's not a faction GM. Also, sometimes instead of clans competing individually, they will be randomly sorted into factions. Unless someone wins within the first week, in which case Phil takes pity on us and it restarts. GMs typically last 1 month, even if one clan wins by week 2. How those Galcoins are distributed up is to your clan leader. This is because it costs your clan about 50,000 - 200,000 Galcoins (I forget, but something in that range) each time you compete. For example, if you join some random clan with 2 members, there is a very high likelihood that your clan will not be competing in the GM. Also, your clan must actually participate in the GM for you to compete in it. That also means that you can't compete unless you join a clan. But, to put it frankly, it is a way for clans to compete against each other. And if you do understand it, the rules of Galaxy Map will probably change in a month anyway. The Galaxy Map (often referred to as the 'GM') is so confusing that almost no one understands it, even experienced players. On the bright side, the fact that payment is required to chat means that there are very few toxic players.Ī: That's a very good question. For example, if you wanted to ask your friend "hey, how's it going?" you would type:īut remember this only works in custom lobbies. If you join a custom lobby and can somehow (non-verbally) get the host to admin you, you can talk by changing the topic of the lobby. It wasn't always like that though, the update that disabled chat for non-paying accounts was only instituted in April of 2020. Phil (creator of Galcon) disabled the chat feature for all players who haven't made at least 1 microtransaction. The more planets you have, the more ships/troops you produce, and the easier it is to capture more planets.Ī: I think this is a pretty common question. The goal of the game depends on which game mode you're playing, but typically, the goal is to destroy your opponents, by conquering their planets. ![]() It incorporates skill and politics and has a supportive albeit small community. But without further ado, let's jump into the FAQ.Ī: Galcon is a single or multiplayer RTS (real-time strategy game) that can be played on any mobile device or via Steam. People have created a ton of strategy guides and that sort of thing, so if you're interested I highly recommend you check it out. However, the Galcon Forum still attracts players where people will post once a week or so. This is because many of the established players that you might see/meet in-game already know this subreddit is dead, so no one really ever visits here. If you are reading this, you are probably a new player.
